Fielded Common Sensor Payloads version 2 (CSPs v2) that need repairs are about to get a big upgrade. 💪 The CSP is an electro-optical/infrared/laser designator sensor for battlefield commanders supporting force application, battlespace awareness, force protection, and more, found on the Gray Eagle aircraft. Every CSP v2 will now have its flash lamp laser upgraded to the Single Color Diode Pumped Laser (SCDPL) by the U.S. Army CECOM Integrated Logistics Support Center, providing units with a better, more reliable laser than the original design. 👏👏👏 This upgrade change occurred at the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast in Jacksonville, Florida, where the Project Director Sensors-Aerial Intelligence (PD SAI) transitioned responsibility for the modernization effort to CECOM ILSC. Soldiers will now benefit from more efficient operations since the upgrade doesn't require the complex cooling of the older flash lamp laser! The CSP also provides full-motion high-definition imagery and serves as the "eyes" of aircraft system. 👀 Thanks to our ILSC partners for helping maintain this innovative new technology! 👏 To learn more about the CSP, visit https://lnkd.in/g5rsMNVJ #News #Upgrades #ForceProtection #Modernize #BeAllYouCanBe
