The annual U.S. Army Reserve Ambassador Workshop, hosted by the 99th Readiness Division, gave nearly two dozen ambassadors the necessary tools to support Soldier and unit readiness. Maj. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, 99th Regional Support Command commander, presented Patriotic Public Service Awards to Ambassadors Phillip M. Churn, Sr. of Washington D.C., Edna W. Cummings of Maryland, and Robert F. Pleczkowski of Pennsylvania, in recognition of their advocacy and outreach efforts for the United States Army Reserve. The primary role of an Ambassador is to bring awareness of, and advocate for, the Army Reserve by building bridges of communication to communities across the Nation. PATHWAYS TO SERVICE The military can open doors only those bold enough to walk through them. For 1st Lt. Larry Pastor, military service began with six years prior enlisted contributing to the nine years he invested in the Hawaii National Guard before joining the Army Reserve in 2020. A Native Hawaiian, Pastor wanted to get off the island and see the world. So when an opportunity to relocate to Korea for his civilian employment came up, he took it with the confidence of continued military service by joining the Reserve. Honoring Fallen Soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery CW5 Lashon White, the 9th U.S. Army Reserve Command Chief Warrant Officer, led a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery today. This event honored fallen Soldiers, Warrant Officers, and Officers in commemoration of the 106th Army Warrant Officer Birthday. The ceremony was a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave service members. CW5 White's tribute highlighted the enduring legacy and unwavering commitment of the Army Reserve community.
