Detroit Olympics Uprising. It is 1963, Detroit is bidding to host the 1968 Olympic Games, and a new energy is sweeping through the Detroit Civil Rights Movement. This is the story of their collision. We've organized a free screening at the U-M Detroit Center for July 23 at 7:00pm. Fox 2 Detroit is also planning to show it that week (date, time tbd). SM European trip, continued: Our guide Sara Scheff says, "From Germany to Belgium, the Sport Management Global Learning Initiative Session 1: Western Europe undergraduate students made their way to Brussels and Lommel for country #2 of their journey. Visits included the Belgium Paralympic Office, the European Sport Commission, Lommel SK football club, and Ford’s Lommel Proving Ground. "Keep an eye out for an update from country #3! 🛤️🚗" 1. "Adventure Awaits in Cologne!" That's how our student correspondent, Sara Scheff, describes the next batch of photos from her class, "Sport Management Global Learning Initiative Session 1: Western Europe." She says, "Students continued on their journey from Munich to Cologne, Germany. They attended the Round of 16 Spain versus Georgia UEFA European Football Championship match, in addition to learning about the history of sport in Germany at the Deutsches Sport & Olympia Museum. They capped off their time in Cologne at the German Sport University (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln), where they met with graduate students studying sport development.
