UDT would like to address the worldwide outages of Windows systems caused by the CrowdStrike update. If you are a CrowdStrike user, it is likely you have been impacted. NOTE: This incident is only affecting environments running CrowdStrike on Windows endpoints. Based on all reports and statements from Microsoft and CrowdStrike, this incident is NOT the result of a security incident or cyberattack. The issue was due to a defect in a content update for Windows hosts, which has been identified and isolated. Fortunately, UDT's systems, platforms, and operations have not been affected and we are available to provide assistance. (Please note there may be some outside solutions or vendors that could have been affected, which we are researching now). Microsoft cloud and 365 environments have been reportedly remediated as of 3:00 AM. CrowdStrike has also stated a fix has been found for isolated workstations. You can follow for the latest updates here: https://hubs.ly/Q02HjfCF0 Please be assured that UDT is continuing to monitor remediation best practices and identifying the right UDTSecure solution mix to help resolve this issue. We're currently working on actionable recommendations based on the latest information available. We will be sending a follow up once we have more concrete recommendations and guidance. In the meantime, now is the time to check and validate your backups for errors and conduct restore tests today, especially on mission critical systems and applications. If you are encountering difficulties applying instructions, this may be related to having BitLocker running. You will need the keys for BitLocker before you can run the patch. UDT is here to assist you. Please do not hesitate to reach out for further assistance.

Last week, the UDT team took to Georgia to attend one of the most respected gatherings of education IT leaders in the nation: the Georgia Association of Managers of Educational Information Systems' (GAMEIS) Annual Conference. GAMEIS has been around since 1982, and it has been a pleasure to watch this organization grow. As a committed partner to #Education, UDT makes it a priority to attend this event each year, and this year did not disappoint. UDT was especially honored to have our very own James Andrews present his insights on, "How to Leverage Student and Staff Personas to Build Your Device Refresh Strategy."
