At UC Berkeley, we understand the significance of recharging, which is why we encourage our employees to fully disconnect during their vacations to maintain overall well-being. Prepare for your vacation by setting an out-of-office message with the help of some Icelandic horses. (Yes, you read that right.) Enjoy your vacation knowing your emails are in good hands! Or, hooves rather.

Cheers to the conclusion of this year’s virtual NOW Conference! We brought together nearly 1,500 staff members from 17 UC campuses for an incredible week of engagement and learning. We are proud to say that the NOW Conference remains the largest conference of any kind in the UC system! Our lineup of keynote speakers was nothing short of impressive, featuring Dr. Deepak Chopra, Gorick Ng, and Chancellor Carol Christ. Alongside them, we had 21 concurrent sessions led by a diverse mix of UC staff and external subject matter experts. Missed a session? Don’t worry! We’ll be posting recordings to our YouTube channel and conference Archives page later this summer. This year was also record-breaking for Coaching HQ! We delivered 32 group coaching sessions, four webinars, and 772 1:1 sessions led by 140 coaches and TA advisors. Our commitment to expanding coaching access is stronger than ever, and these numbers show how we’re fulfilling that mission. A huge shoutout to the Planning Committee, a dedicated team of 14 staff from across the UC system, and to everyone who volunteered their time as keynotes, presenters, coaches, recruiters, session moderators, hosts, and facilitators who supported our NOW Conference activities this week. Special thanks also go to our sponsors for making this conference possible. We look forward to seeing you in person next year! #ucnow2024
