What’s the most toxic kind of relationship driving Aussies around the bend? According to research, it’s Australians’ addiction to the private car. In partnership with Lime, Lug+Carrie, and The Behavioural Architects, the ‘One Less Car’ trial will observe how Australians’ transportation behaviours change when they have one less car in their lives. This first-of-its-kind social experiment is launching with the goal of better understanding the changes needed to build more liveable cities. As we all consider the impact that car ownership has on personal finances, the livability of our cities, and our environment, Uber Carshare is excited to be a part of this trial. Throughout the trial, participants will be given over $1300 in transport credits to use on alternative modes of transport and fitted out with personal health trackers to measure health and well-being impacts. Insights from their experiences will be shared with industry and government, with an aim to help inform the planning of greener and more sustainable cities.
