Last week, Chief Medical Officer Neil Parikh, MD appeared on “The Physicians Guide to Doctoring” podcast, hosted by Bradley Block, MD. Neil shared our approach to asynchronous care at Thirty Madison and how patients benefit from ongoing access to clinical experts: "We do have a very formulaic approach about how and where we expand into. First, it all starts with the patients... listening to patients, understanding their sets of concerns, what they are seeking from us, so that we can ultimately get to a place where we manage all of our patients more holistically. Secondly, it's very much also about understanding can you manage these sets of conditions virtually… I think you’d be pleasantly surprised how much you can manage asynchronously and how in certain situations it’s actually a superior way of delivering care.” Listen to the full podcast: https://lnkd.in/edi4VGWC

Last night, Director of Partnerships Madeleine L. brought together a select group of executives dedicated to national healthcare innovation in conjunction with Connecticut Innovations, local startup executive Geoff Matous, and the V1C Coalition by DiMe. We were joined by Daniel O'Keefe, the Connecticut Economic Development Commissioner and Chief Innovation Officer, who shared remarks on the unique convergence of both healthcare and insurance in the state, and the opportunity for industry growth. The event featured a panel representing key healthcare stakeholders across Connecticut, including Matt Storeygard, Mike M., Katherine Saunders, MD, Barry Stein, MD, MBA, FSIR, FACR, RPVI, and Melissa Reilly. The insightful discussion was focused on how investors, startups, payors, and the health systems can work together to advance access, clinical outcomes, and total cost of care. Thank you to this incredible group for joining us!

Today marks two years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Since the ruling, states have implemented restrictions on reproductive care, causing patients to travel to gain access to the care they need. Our clinical team is passionate about ensuring patients are aware of their options, as restrictions and ongoing challenges have profoundly impacted their healthcare overall. Cristin Hackel, Nurx Women's Health Specialist and Nurse Practitioner, shares what she wants women of reproductive age to know: "Know your choices. Question what you see and hear on social media. Talk to a medical professional to fully understand the risks and benefits of birth control. Take control of what YOU want to do. Last but certainly not least... Nurx is here for them when they need us."

Our team is excited to be presenting exciting new research on patient outcomes this week at the American Headache Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting! Patients receiving migraine care with Cove gain 7.9 productive days back a quarter on average, which amounts to over a month a year. Today, Cove Neurologist Dr. Saurabh Sharma will discuss how Cove’s asynchronous Migraine care is making a significant impact on patient lives by addressing affordability and access gaps. If you’re attending AHS, stop by our poster to learn more from Dr. Sharma and Emily Smith, Cove Strategy & Operations Lead. Migraine is the second leading cause of disability worldwide and the leading cause of disability in young women. We are proud to help patients reclaim moments in their lives and deliver specialty healthcare the way it should be: affordable, easily accessible, and tailored to each patient’s needs. #AHSAM #headachemedicine

Today’s unanimous Supreme Court decision is a win for reproductive freedom, access, and bodily autonomy. Mifepristone has been safely used for abortion and miscarriage care for decades, and this case rejection highlights how important it is for policies about healthcare to be informed by healthcare professionals and accurate information. While mifepristone remains available nationally, we still have a long way to go for everyone to have access to the essential and quality healthcare they deserve. We continue to recommend our trusted partners Hey Jane to Nurx patients in need of safe, clinically-proven abortion care from home.

This year, we’ve partnered with Evvy, the company that created #Equal Research Day, to push for more inclusivity in research on women’s health. The gap in women’s health research funding and volume is still too wide, which ultimately impacts how women are misdiagnosed and mistreated for conditions that impact their ability to live healthy lives. Through the partnership, Evvy has published a coffee table book, 100 Effed Facts About The Gender Health Gap, shining a light on shocking truths about gender disparities in healthcare research, access, and treatment. We contributed to the statistics in this book with a focus the patient populations we treat at Nurx and Cove, now available to purchase with proceeds benefiting Women’s Health Access Matters. We’re passionate about our work to continue to close the gap in research to improve patient care and ensure women have access to the care, treatment, and credible experts they deserve.

Last night our team came together to attend an early #EqualResearchDay event and celebrate the launch of a limited-edition coffee table book, “100 Effed Facts About the Gender Health Gap: A Very Incomplete List of Ways the Female Body Has Been Left Behind by Modern Medicine.” The event featured an incredible panel and a robust discussion of all the ways research has left out women in modern history, leading to the gender disparities we currently see in women’s health. It is critical to our mission at Thirty Madison to advance the health of women and advocating for more inclusive research ultimately leads to equitable outcomes for women. Thanks for having us, Evvy! From left to right: Director of Partnerships Madeleine L.; Medical Director for Women's Health Navya Mysore; and Chief Business Officer Caroline Hofmann.
