Growing Minds, Bodies, & Spirits!

About us

TheraTree, LLC is under the ownership of Jessica K. Lynn Hatfield, MS, OTR/L, CKPT, SIPT. TheraTree was formally known as Lynn Occupational Therapy owned by Dale Lynn, OTR/L who established the company in 2000. The family own and operated company provided OT services to the Owensboro Area community for 15 years before outgrowing it's name by offering speech and physical therapy services. The need for rebranding the business provided an opportunity for Jessica to purchase the company and create TheraTree to encompass the many services provided. Although ownership has change, Jessica and Dale continue to work together to run the company, provide the best care for clients, and a collaborative working environment for employees. Together Dale and Jessica have established an incredible relationship with area pediatricians as well as many families in the special needs community. TheraTree, LLC. serves the pediatric population through Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, & Physical Therapy Mission TheraTree’s purpose is to support the whole child: mind, body and spirit. Our therapeutic services treat: Minds by sprouting learning and strategies for life. Bodies by cultivating strong, agile muscles and motor skills. TheraTree’s forest consists of a comprehensive team providing Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Physical Therapy Services to achieve it’s mission. • 📖 Today is National Read Across America Day! “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”- Dr. Seuss The annual event, celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss, is an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association. 5 Tips to inspire reading for your child: 📖 Strategically keep books everywhere you spend time. Kids are more often to engage with things when it's "their own idea". Put them in the car, in every room of the house, and tuck them in backpacks and purses. Make them easily accessible to they're more likely to pick them up. 📖 Visit the library often. Libraries provide more than just access to books. Find you local library's schedule of events to increase the literacy skills of your child! 📖 Show then that YOU like reading. Children imitate what they see the adults around them do. Whether they see you read a magazine, newspaper, or novel, it will leave an impression. 📖 Read to your children. No matter their age, reading aloud strengthens their vocabulary and language skills. It also opens up opportunities for discussion. 📖 Have your children read to you, too. This provides a chance to both praise their skills and help them through reading challenges.

  • March is National Brain Injury Awareness Month. Here are 5 facts about Brain Injury: 🧠 Helmets Help Prevent Head Injuries. Wear helmets when bike or horseback riding and during high contact sports like: Football, Lacrosse, Hockey, Rollerskating, Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowmobiling, and Skateboarding. 🧠 Screen Time Impacts Concussion Recovery. Research findings suggest that avoiding screen time in the first 48 hours of acute-concussion recovery may greatly shorten the duration of concussion symptoms. 🧠 Concussions Happen More Often Than You Think. According to the BIAA someone in this country will experience a brain injury every nine seconds. 🧠 Concussion Symptoms Aren’t Always Obvious. Expected Symptoms include: Headaches, Dizziness, Nausea, Ringing in the ears, and Vision problems. However, UNEXPECTED symptoms are: Sleep difficulties or irregularities, Depression, Anxiety, and Slower-than-normal reaction time. Concussions can sometimes go undetected because on the surface these symptoms may not appear related to a head injury. 🧠 Older Adults Are at Higher Risk for Concussions, and Preventive Measures Should Be Encouraged More. Proactive steps can include: removing home hazards like throw rugs, adding for lighting to living space to help avoid tripping, using assistive devices (like handrails, grab bars, raised toilet seats), regularly reviewing medications with a doctor, staying as physically active, and wearing sensible shoes.
