About us
Official page of the Humane Society of the United States, the nation's most effective animal protection organization fighting for all animals! The Humane Society of the United States fights the big fights to end suffering for all animals. Together with millions of supporters, we take on puppy mills, factory farms, the fur trade, trophy hunting, animal cosmetics testing and other cruel industries. We rescue and care for thousands of animals every year through our rescue and response team and other hands-on animal care services. We fight all forms of animal cruelty to achieve the vision behind our name: a humane society. And we can’t do it without you.

Nearly 120 days ago, our Animal Rescue Team rescued approximately 250 dogs from two puppy mills in Oklahoma. Following the rescue operation, our team continued to care for the animals at an undisclosed location for several months and until we received final custody in late June. We are now in the process of transferring the animals to shelter and rescue partners to seek loving homes. Together, we're rewriting their stories and giving them a second chance at the lives they deserve. 💙
