We're an international network of 400+ major companies helping refugees access labor markets via job prep & employment.
About us
With more and more refugees displaced around the world, businesses have a critical role to play in helping refugees integrate economically in their new communities. Tent was launched in 2016 by Hamdi Ulukaya, the CEO and founder of Chobani – a multibillion dollar food company in the U.S. – to mobilize businesses across the Americas and Europe to fill this gap. Today, Tent is a network of over 400 major companies committed to helping hundreds of thousands of refugees access local labor markets by helping them become job-ready and connecting them to work. With around half a million refugees in Germany currently unemployed and 1.7 million jobs openings due to labor shortages, there is great urgency and a great opportunity for companies to step up and welcome refugees into their workforce. This week, Christian SCHMIDT, Director of Tent Deutschland led a workshop for the Jobcenter München team at their training day and shared insights on how to overcome some of the barriers to employment refugee jobseekers face and how employers approach recruiting from this talent pool. “Vielen Dank”, Markus Galuschka from Tent Deutschland member company SOCCO GROUP GmbH for speaking alongside us, and Jobcenter München for including Tent Partnership for Refugees in this great event! #HireRefugees #WirStellenGeflüchteteEin

Great to be back in Madrid today to meet with State Secretary Pilar Cancela Rodríguez at the Spanish Ministerio de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migraciones. With the Tent España coalition growing – now counting 45 of Spain’s largest employers in its ranks – we met to build on the formal partnership established between the Tent Partnership for Refugees and the Ministry last year and discuss ways we can further accelerate the labor market integration of the hundreds of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers currently living in Spain.

Last week was quite the week for the Tent Partnership for Refugees at #Almedalen 2024! 🇸🇪 Despite having the legal right to work, many of the almost 300,000 refugees living in Sweden are unemployed or employed in roles below their skill level. Almedalen was an opportunity for Tent to encourage more companies to help refugees connect to jobs across the country: ✨ We were thrilled to welcome guests to our event in the #AmericanGardenAlmedalen, co-hosted with AmCham Sweden - American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden and the U.S. Embassy Sweden. Following inspiring opening remarks from Erik Ramanathan, U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, Tent’s Country Director for Sweden Karin Heri moderated an insightful discussion with business leaders from ManpowerGroup Sweden, Sodexo and Ambea about actions the private sector can take to help integrate refugees into the local workforce. ✨Together with OIM - ONU Migration and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, we also co-hosted a session on the local labor market integration of refugees. Kajsa Boqvist of member company PwC Sweden discussed how PwC is hiring highly skilled talent into its business while Eva powerfully shared her story of leaving Ukraine and rebuilding her life in Sweden. ✨Additionally, we were honored to attend events hosted by Skill Shift Initiative and Ukrainska Hubben and speak to why providing opportunities for refugees can help solve labor shortages. If you want to learn more about the support we offer to companies in Sweden, get in touch!
