We are thrilled to highlight our upcoming World Congress happening from October 1-4, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya. This is the second landmark event of its kind, led by and for survivor leaders. We will gather over 165 participants from around the globe to build upon the first World Congress, to foster leadership, empowerment, and collective action. The Congress will feature collaborative sessions aimed at building an inclusive, intersectional movement. This month we asked our members what learning meant to them, and we got so many insightful responses! One member shared: "In order to truly learn, both academically and in relationships with others, we need to give ourselves time to rest and process. If we push through exhaustion or stress, we are not listening to important emotions or making space for our creative minds to truly understand. Frustration with learning and a lack of understanding the needs of others often happens when we are too burned out to really listen, sit, examine, and integrate the lessons before us." This hit us close to home - in this sector we often work ourselves to the point of burnout, forgetting that a key part of success lies in our ability to care for ourselves.
