Our President and Group CEO, Stephen Miller, was invited as a panelist at the TMT M&A Forum APAC 2024’s Visionary CEO Fireside Chat where he shared STT's investment strategy and how ESG is of fundamental importance to the Group. As more businesses and governments adopt cloud and AI technologies, Stephen highlighted that the growth of data centres and their physical infrastructure is symbiotic with cloud services capabilities which are critical to support businesses on their transformation towards smarter data, more secured data, and better data governance. The hyperscalers depend on both sides of the equation. Stephen also touched on sustainability being quintessential in each of our organisations’ corporate strategy, especially in today’s business climate and regulatory requirements. While STT and our portfolio companies are at different levels of maturity in the ESG journey, we remain collectively committed in advancing the sustainability agenda to enhance our “social licence” to operate and grow. #IgniteEnduringChange #Sustainability #ESG #TMTForumAPAC

Last week, 22 STT and Ollion employees participated in an STT-organised kayaking coastal cleanup at Pasir Ris beach as part of our environmental stewardship efforts. Despite the continuous rain, everyone was in high spirits as they diligently cleared up litter from both the waters and shoreline in a bid to tackle marine pollution. The team also gained deeper insights from the kayaking guide on the sources of pollution, how it affected marine life, and its trickle-down effects on the wider ecosystems. As part of our efforts to advance the sustainability agenda, STT was proud to be presenting sponsor of the Ministerial Dialogue with Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations held in early February. In conversation with our President and Group CEO Stephen Miller, who moderated the session, Ms Fu provided insights and observations on a wide range of topics, including COP28, capacity building, sustainable and transition financing, as well as carbon tax and credits. She also shared on the importance of balancing challenges with progress, knowledge sharing, and the use of science-based innovation and digitalisation for sustainable development. Ms Fu also encouraged businesses in Singapore and Australia to leverage on the Green Economy Agreement to accelerate efforts and develop future fit sustainability strategies. As ESG considerations become increasingly essential to long-term business viability and success, it is important that sustainability is embedded into an organisation’s culture so that it is lived by all employees instead of being just a target to meet. STT is delighted to have the opportunity to share our perspective in the inaugural Employee Communication Trend Report by Rothman & Roman Group. The report sought to glean insights on employee communication and engagement in ESG from a diverse range of companies and industries. Within the report, our Head of Strategic Relations and Communications Melinda Tan shares the importance of employee buy-in for companies to make continuous meaningful progress in their sustainability commitment, and how companies can communicate their goals and plans internally to encourage employees to become active participants. Stephen Miller, our President & Group CEO, and Melinda Tan, Head of Strategic Relations and Communications, were part of a reception organised by Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge to honour Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, a Fitzwilliam alumnus, and the scholarships offered in his name. We launched the ST Telemedia – Lee Kuan Yew Undergraduate Scholarship with the College in 2019 to offer high-achieving Singaporean students from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to further their studies at top international universities. We also established scholarships with Somerville College and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in that same year. In continuation of our digital inclusion efforts to empower local communities, STT sponsored a cyber wellness workshop for 14 youths of Children's Aid Society (Singapore) - Melrose Home in November. Held in our office, the interactive workshop focused on two topics – Cyberbullying and Managing Online Relationships – to equip participants with the skills to navigate cyberspace safely and confidently. It was heartening to see the enthusiastic participation of the youths!
