Attended an amazing Stanford Seed Leadership Lab session last Friday! 🌱🚀 It was an enriching experience where five diverse business owners came together to address our most pressing adaptive challenges. The range of issues we explored was truly enlightening, spanning from organizational culture to leadership development, and from revenue diversification to change management.. The collaborative problem-solving approach promoted by the Stanford Seed program was invaluable. We dove deep into each challenge, offering fresh perspectives, sharing experiences, and brainstorming innovative solutions. Key learnings: 1. The power of peer-to-peer learning in entrepreneurship 2. The importance of clear communication in any change process 3. Strategies for developing future leaders 4. Approaches to scaling and diversifying businesses 5. Balancing innovation with stability 6. The universal nature of certain business challenges, regardless of industry Grateful for the opportunity to learn from and alongside fellow entrepreneurs. These sessions remind me that while our challenges may be unique, the spirit of innovation and growth is universal. Looking forward to implementing these insights and continuing to grow as a leader. Has anyone else participated in similar leadership programs? I'd love to hear about your experiences! #StanfordSeed #LeadershipLab #LeadershipDevelopment #EntrepreneurialJourney #AdaptiveChallenges #BusinessGrowth #Innovation #Sustainability Feroz Rehman Jacob Ninan Chacko Cherian Narayanan "Nadu" Ramakrishnan Bharath Parthasarathy Stanford Seed

Business model canvas helps you turn complexity into clarity. Here’s how… The Business Model Canvas is a tool for strategic management, offering a structured and visual approach to understand, develop, and communicate your business model. By leveraging its components, businesses can enhance strategic alignment, streamline operations, and achieve their objectives with greater clarity and efficiency. The 13 components that include the likes of Value Proposition, Problem Statement, Customer Segments, Customer Relationships, Mission Impact, Key Activities, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Partners and Cost Structure provide a comprehensive view of the business strategy and operations. Here are some key characteristics of the BMC: A Single Canvas: This format provides a clear, overarching view of how the business functions, facilitating strategic discussions and decision-making processes. A Communication and Strategy Tool: It translates complex business ideas into a universally understandable format, enabling alignment and clarity among stakeholders, and aiding in the articulation and execution of strategic initiatives. Application and Usage: The flexibility of the BMC makes it applicable to various business models such as Distributor models, Platform models, Franchise models, etc. These were the points of discussion in our latest Huddle conducted by Michelle Maria Thomas, Senior Business Transformation Advisor, Stanford Seed. The session was instrumental in encouraging strategic planning among our members. Emily Tench excited to see the difference you can make through your work this summer with Prochimad via your Stanford Seed internship!
I’ve spent a lot of time this year at Stanford University Graduate School of Business reflecting on the concept of #ImpatientImpact. The idea is that if young people want to make a difference in the world, we should start sooner rather than later – because the world’s greatest problems need our talents and energy now. And so when deciding what I would work on this summer, I knew that I had to find something high-impact and actually walk the walk rather than just talk the talk. So I’m thrilled to share that I'm currently working with Prochimad to launch a new nonprofit in Madagascar to train young agronomists and support them to launch their own agri-businesses. Madagascar is the world's fourth most vulnerable country to climate change. 80% of the population is employed in the agricultural sector and severe droughts and more frequent cyclones have hampered agricultural production. According to the World Food Program, 1.31 million people are currently experiencing acute food insecurity and more than 90% of the population live on less than $3.10 per day. Working closely with Arnaud Andriantsitohaina and Ravalison R., our team will support Madagascar’s young agronomists to increase the availability of local food supplies and implement climate-resilient agricultural practices. If you’ve worked on or are interested in climate-resilient agriculture or training for young agri-entrepreneurs, please get in touch – would love to chat! Thanks to Stanford Seed and Arnaud Andriantsitohaina for the opportunity.
