Whether at our five family centers, schools or in family’s homes, SPIRITT professionals work collaboratively with clients and partners to improve the community as a whole. Our family-focused education, case management, support, and counseling services serve over 6,000 individuals each year.   Delivering culturally-sensitive services in multiple languages, SPIRITT is recognized as an organization that quickly adapts to our community’s changing needs. By staying focused and nimble, our team of experts is able to transform funding into real, positive change throughout the community. Our programs have a proven record for helping clients referred to us by juvenile justice, family or dependency courts, child protective agencies, schools and community partners. We work to help families in crisis both stay together and learn ways to support themselves. • On June 15, 2024, SPIRITT Family Services in conjunction with Human Services Association, La County Child Abuse Prevention Councils, Comunidades Unidas, Parents As Leaders (PALS), and Mujeres con Poder, hosted its annual Parent Conference, "Breaking Chains & New Beginnings," A remarkable turnout of 247 individuals attended the event. Expert speakers delved deep into the intricate connections between mental well-being, cultural influences, substance abuse, and how these factors intertwine to impact family dynamics, with a special emphasis on the LGBTQ+ community. We are extremely grateful to Whittier College for opening their beautiful campus to our SPIRITT Families.

  • SPIRITT believes that building a strong community of support is essential for men to prioritize their health and well-being. By coming together to participate in fun and engaging activities, SPIRITT is building a strong foundation of emotional support and camaraderie. In honor of Father's Day and Men's Health Month, SPIRITT hosted a baseball game outing and Bingo Brunch for members of the fatherhood program. Participants enjoyed a relaxing day filled with food, entertainment, games, raffles and much more, while strengthening social connections. Together, we can empower men to make their health a priority and create a culture of wellness and vitality. #MensHealthMonth #HealthyLiving #SelfCare #Wellness #CommunitySupport #SPIRITT.

  • This week SPIRITT's Wraparound and Outpatient Mental Health teams coordinated college campus tours to Cal-Poly Pomona & Mt. San Antonio College, for some of our SPIRITT youth members. The tour allowed the youth to envision themselves as college students and see the endless possibilities that higher education can offer. They experienced eating in the cafeteria and learned about various resources and clubs offered to students on campus. A few of our attendees are in both foster care and have IEP's and were able to receive information on EOPS program and specialized tutoring support. Thank you to our amazing Wraparound and Outpatient Mental Health teams for coordinating this invaluable experience for our youth. #HigherEducation #CollegeTours #YouthEmpowerment #SPIRITT #FosterYouth #TutoringSupport.

  • Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a significant holiday celebrated on June 19th in the United States. It commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and justice. In observance of Juneteenth, SPIRITT will be closed on Wednesday June 19, 2024. Let us use this day to reflect, educate ourselves, and take action towards dismantling systemic racism and amplifying black voices. #Juneteenth #freedomday #spiritt #blackvoices

  • Pride Month is an annual celebration that takes place in June dedicated to recognizing the LGBTQ+ community. In partnership with the Latino Equality Alliance organization, @somoslea we provide year-round support groups at SPIRITT's Bell Gardens Family Center. These groups aim to provide essential information, support, and a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, with a key focus on combating harassment, homophobia, and transphobia. Together, we stand stronger and prouder, fostering a community where everyone is included and celebrated for who they are. #pridemonth #spiritt #support #pride
