Our next champion is Keri Laimbeer, a rockstar Executive Assistant with a passion for excellence and dedication to supporting her team. We sat down with Keri and asked her a few questions: Q: Keri, you have been part of Skillz since January, what do you love most about working here? A: "I love working at Skillz because it has given me the opportunity to really showcase my range of interests. I feel supported by my direct leadership and our senior leadership to be creative in my approach to projects in order to get the best outcome for Skillz and my coworkers. My peers have really taken to my personality and I enjoy coming to work everyday to see what's up next for us. My role as a dual EA gives me a unique opportunity to interact with all departments and I have learned so much from everyone. I'm so grateful for the wide range of personalities, skills and specialties that everyone has shared with me, and I really feel like I am learning more and more each day. It's refreshing to feel supported and appreciated at a new place so quickly - it's not something that I had before coming to Skillz. I really can't stress enough how much I love my coworkers. I laugh literally, all day!" Q: What are you the most proud of achieving here so far? A: "I'm really proud of my work with our new HQ. Our HQ opened a week before I started so I feel like we went through our growing pains together. The space is special, and with every quirk it has so much potential to be a place that inspires creativity and collaboration. I think once everything is where we want it to be, and our CEO’s vision is brought to life, it's going to be a place that everyone will enjoy. The potential for it is endless, and with creativity and hard work, it's going to be something we all are very proud of". Our next champion is Joseph Quang Pham- Senior Recruiter (Recruiting Manager in training) - who is passionate about strategic process optimization and streamlining workflow efficiency. We sat down with Joseph and asked him a few questions: Q: Hey Joseph, you just celebrated your one-year anniversary with Skillz last week. What do you love most about working here? A: My team, our leadership panel, the product... honestly, too many things to list. The environment is high impact and high growth, much like "Suits" in real life. It offers a start-up atmosphere with big tech resources. Each day presents new and interesting challenges to solve, and you can see the tangible impact of your work. Assuming we execute all our deliverables in the next 24 months, the potential upside is quite significant. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, in my opinion. Q: Nice! What are you most proud of achieving here so far? A: I am proud of leading the TA team and spearheading dozens of recruiting process optimizations, streamlining our hiring efficiency with insights from my previous experience at Meta and Google. Additionally, I opened the international HQ in Bangalore, India, and built out the entire Analytics team there as well as the Engineering leadership team at our Las Vegas HQ. We sat down with Gabe and asked him a couple of questions: Q: Gabe, you have been part of Skillz for over 4 and a half years now, what do you love most about working here? A: “The people here are the best part of any day! Cross-collaboration is encouraged which drives the business forward. At Skillz, you are exposed to many areas of the business and have opportunities to learn things that I don’t think you'll be able to learn anywhere else”. Q: What gives you a sense of achievement at Skillz? A: Every new hire class I get to sit down with, enables me to meet with people from across the company and introduce them to the player journey from a support perspective. During this presentation I’m able to highlight areas of this path that someone new to the company may not consider and hopefully influence a more player centric approach to our product and processes.
