Building trust-centered leadership, teams & organizations where people can be & do their best. MCC, CEO of Six Seconds - the global emotional intelligence community

25 years ago, people would look at me like I was crazy when I said, “I lead the global emotional intelligence nonprofit community” … they’d say, “emotional WHAT?” 😂 Now, just in the last year, just here in our LI group, we’ve shown >100 million people insights, tools, tips to make work and the world a better place by tuning into the value of emotions. Great to wake up to this news today — it’s my birthday! And we’re celebrating World Emotional Intelligence Day (Thursday)… so hooray hooray!! Biggest thanks to people who actively participate in the group discussions!! That’s what makes it a GROUP, and why visiting the group is better than the regular LinkedIn feed. Plus, shout out to the creators who’ve been bringing 💎💎💎content including Justin Wright , Arvid Pedersen , Lukas J.M. Stangl , Melissa Grabiner , Nerry Toledo , Justin Mecham , Lucy G. , Véronique Barrot , Anna Chernyshova , Dr. Christian Poensgen , Noemi Kis✨ Jay Mount Abir Haddoud Benjamin B. Bargetzi and many many many more! I feel inspired and jealous, y’all are rocking it so well, now I’m the one trying to keep up :) 25 years… actually 27: It was June of 1997 that Anabel Jensen and I decided to start Six Seconds. We incorporated in July, and started operations in September of ‘97… when we published our first hands on learning resource. Then ran the world’s first Emotional Intelligence Practitioner Certification in ‘98, and the first global conference was in 2000 (called Nexus EQ). Now 10s of 1000s of people have worked with Six Seconds to grow these skills all around the globe. I don’t know when I started the group on LinkedIn, but I’d guess around 2010. Another way of bringing people together since we can’t do this kind of work by ourselves.

People in healthcare need care. One symptom is accelerating physician burnout – perhaps exacerbated by disruptions and dysregulation in society-at-large. Long hours. Short staff. More technology/less time for patients. Financial pressures. Demand growing faster than supply. These factors affect all of us, but in healthcare there’s a magnifying effect, especially in a context where mistakes cost lives. ** What’s driving burnout and reducing wellbeing within healthcare? ** Loneliness is up, wellbeing is down -- what does that mean for healthcare leaders, clinicians and staff? ** How can emotional intelligence help address these challenges? We’ll dive into a remarkable new case study on emotional intelligence coaching at the National Healthcare Service in the UK, and get examples from the US and Saudi Arabia, both in clinical and staff sides of healthcare. Panelists include: ** Carlos A. Pellegrini MD, FACS - executive coach, former Chief Medical Officer of UW Medicine, Chair of the US Joint Commission. ** Charlotte Moore - Certified Professional Coach at 7level7energy, lead for the EQ Coaching at NHS case study ** Ekta Vyas PhD - CHRO Keck Medicine (US), TEDx, Speaker, Author, USC Marshall Adjunct Professor, & Forbes Influencer ** Marcelo De Paula - Director People DevelopmentDirector People Development, Nahdi Medical, Saudi Arabia ** Moderator: Joshua Freedman, MCC - cofounder and ceo of the world's largest network dedicated to growing emotional intelligence, Six Seconds EQLive is an interactive livestream program from Six Seconds, The Emotional Intelligence Network. Since 1997, together we’ve engaged 10 million people to practice emotional intelligence, in over 150 countries and territories.
