👶 It's National SIDS Awareness Month! 🍼 According to the National Institutes of Health, approximately 90% of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome cases occur in infants under the age of 6 months. The highest risk period falls between 2 and 4 months of age. Promoting safe sleep practices is crucial in reducing these tragic incidents. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of a remarkable individual, Board Member Florine Mark. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of her peaceful passing at the age of 90, as reported by The Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield. Florine Mark was a prominent metro Detroit businesswoman who made an indelible mark in various fields. Florine Mark served as the former president and CEO of The Weight Watchers Group, leaving a lasting legacy in the health and wellness industry. Beyond her business accomplishments, she was a dedicated adviser and board member for numerous philanthropic and civic organizations. Her contributions extended to SEMHA, where her insights and commitment were invaluable. Florine Mark's leadership extended to the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Detroit, Chicago Branch, where she served admirably for seven years. Her dedication to the community and her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others will be remembered fondly. On behalf of SEMHA, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Mark family during this difficult time. Florine Mark's legacy will continue to inspire us, and her contributions to our organization and community will forever be cherished.
