This Thursday, July 11: Volunteer Park Trust will host the first FREE show in this year’s Summer Series at the Amphitheater! Featuring an evening with Clinton Fearon and the Phinney Ridge Steel Drum Band, the show runs from 6:00-8:30pm. This weekend = drop-in play all-day, every day at Pickleball for All! 💛 On July 13 and 14, eight temporary courts will come alive with free coaching from Seattle Metro Pickleball Association volunteers, round robins for competitive play against similarly skilled players, and drop-in play for all. The courts are ADA-accessible, and the event is open to all ages and experience levels. The weekend will also feature music, pop-up pro shops, and more on the Playfield next to the Amazon Spheres. Paddles and balls will be provided – just bring yourself!

Seattle Parks and Recreation and their partners are #ParkProud to host a variety of FREE events and activities all summer long in the heart of Seattle, as well as at several neighborhood parks! Offerings include outdoor movies at Cal Anderson Park, music and dancing at Hing Hay Park, family fun and food trucks at Westlake Park, and Zumba at Freeway Park. Pickleball for All is back for a second year, bringing free and accessible pickleball to the streets of Seattle on July 13-14. This year the eight temporary courts will be placed on 6th Avenue between Virginia and Blanchard and there will be a minimum of six courts open for drop-in play all weekend long. Register early for our free Beginner and Advanced Clinics with the Seattle Metro Pickleball Association and bring the whole family for this weekend of fun!

Pedal with the volunteer-led Lid I-5 Steering Committee on a bike tour of the University District/Wallingford lid study area, as well as under-construction and completed lids over State Route 520. You’ll learn about the latest milestones with public policy and funding that are making the project happen. The June 22nd tour starts at 9:00am at the northeast corner of University Playground Park.
