Last week, the Seattle Bank team attended the Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle High School Expo Night. The event promoted the Corporate Work Study program that operates like a temporary employment agency within Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle. As a corporate partner of Cristo Rey, Seattle Bank will be one of a handful of organizations offering “work-study” opportunities for students during the 2024-2025 school year. We are so excited to have met families, prospective students, and founding partners and are looking forward to working with the students this coming fall!

Yesterday, the Seattle Bank and CD Valet teams had the pleasure of partnering with Junior Achievement of Washington, a nonprofit organization offering K-12 programs that foster work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills, for Biz Town Volunteer Day! We had the opportunity to mentor students from Lochburn Middle School, where they learned how to navigate the business world through a simulated city with real-life businesses. Skills they put into place included figuring out how to purchase supplies, process payroll, set up retail stores, deposit checks, open savings accounts, and more! Thank you, Junior Achievement of Washington, for this rewarding opportunity!

Now in its third year, Seattle Bank, Visit Seattle, and Intentionalist are expanding our Community Partnership Program with a new group of small businesses in what has been known as Seattle’s ‘original neighborhood,’ -- Pioneer Square. Aimed to help bolster tourism and economic vitality for local BIPOC and LGBTQIA+-owned businesses, our program continues to connect locals and visitors to under-explored spaces in neighborhoods that provide cultural and culinary experiences and define Seattle’s community.
