Nestled within a private community of luxury homes, a new private aviation terminal offers travelers a glimpse of paradise. The Ocean Reef Club on Key Largo is an exclusive oasis that celebrates nature and lifestyle. Its coastal modern aesthetic blends a deep reverence for local heritage with inspiration drawn from vintage airplanes, yachts, and classic cars. A welcoming canopy adorns the observation deck, extending an invitation to arrivals by air, land, or sea. Inside, sunlight streams through expansive windows, bringing the outside in. The lobby serves as the heart, connecting to a lounge, boutique, and café, while aviators find solace in a dedicated retreat between flights. Custom expressions enhance the modern club atmosphere, elevating aesthetic appeal to create a relaxed sense of place.

Thank you for the feature, Suite Life Magazine. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/esUyQvGK There is one station that stood tall amidst the devasting impact left by hurricane Ian nearly 2 years ago: Fire Station 172. The recent groundbreaking for Sanibel Fire & Rescue District’s Station 172 holds deep significance, not only for us, but for the entire Sanibel Island community. Inspired by the resilience and iconic charm of the island's lighthouse, the new replacement station symbolizes a "beacon of hope". Schenkel Shultz, in collaboration with Manhattan Construction Company, is honored to play a vital role in Sanibel Island's recovery through the rebuild of Station 172. Designed to ensure lasting protection well into the next century, the new fire station will continue to safeguard the island’s residents from emergencies and future storms for generations to come.

Schenkel Shultz conceptualized The Villages Early Childhood Center as a historical schoolhouse, drawing inspiration from the allure of a once thriving farming community. The design reflects a comforting home away from home for young students, all while ensuring a safe and secure learning environment. An educational space nestled within the al fresco garden establishes a deep connection to the outdoors, echoing the farming roots of a bygone era. Through the strategic use of natural light, the garden cultivates an environment that strengthens the students’ connection to nature. Photo credit: Chad Baumer Photography

The Villages K8 School, nestled along Middleton’s main thoroughfare, embraces a colorful and playful campus narrative. At its core beats a vibrant and multi-functional courtyard, a dynamic hub for outdoor dining and school events. The campus houses a lower school that is separated by the administration and library from the middle school to the south. Five vertical light wells help organize the grade levels, each with a special touch. The custom environmental graphics at each light well reflect the subject matter being taught at each level, allowing students to be enveloped by pedagogy. The library and common circulation corridors also carry the visual language of color and motif to offer playfulness and wayfinding. Photo credit: Chad Baumer Photography

We stay current with the latest trends shaping interior spaces. Last week, our interior design team attended STITCHED, the IIDA Florida Chapter’s fashion and networking event. Competing teams from Tampa Bay and Orlando A&D firms got creative, crafting fashion designs from materials provided by designated manufacturers, each piece reflecting elemental themes and zodiac signs. Models showcased these unique creations, celebrating the fusion of fashion, art, and inspiration.
