We are thankful for our brave heroes who fought for the freedom we are enjoying today. Let’s commemorate their memory by spreading goodwill to all. Happy 4th of July to everyone. #IndependenceDay

We love our staff! Our Mental Health Technicians were recognized for being the “most respectful” and “best listeners” in their units by our residents. Pictured are a few of our winners! Great job, Tyrell (pictured in the first), Dorothy (pictured in the second photo), Julianna (pictured in the third photo), Stanley, Terrance, Jasmine, Rebecca, and Nadine!

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health disorder affecting children, adolescents, and adults who have survived a traumatic experience or series of traumatic events. PTSD symptoms often co-exist with other conditions such as substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety. Upon admission, our Clinical team complete a comprehensive medical evaluation, resulting in an individualized treatment plan. Our Clinicians use evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EDMR) to address trauma. Juneteenth, also known as #FreedomDay or #EmancipationDay, is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, an estimated 250,000 enslaved African Americans in Texas were told that they were free. Today, we are reflecting on inequalities that African Americans have faced throughout history and will continue to stand in solidarity with the black community. #Juneteenth

Zhuang Zhou, Chinese Philosopher, once said, "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly!" Our therapeutic art group is designed to boost residents’ moods by helping to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Our Recreational Therapy department has planned several mural projects throughout the building. These murals allow our residents to express themselves through art, gain experience with murals, and participate in a hobby they love!
