Today's TAB leadership training focused on finances. Our guest facilitator, Darius Rucker, asked board members how they would invest $1 million in their neighborhood. Some of the top responses included establishing more community wellness programs, providing food and shelter for unhoused neighbors, and creating more small business and employment opportunities. The TAB brings together public housing residents and SLHA to collaborate on planning and decision-making processes, aiming to improve resident neighborhoods. This morning, the executive board members of SLHA's eight Tenant Association Boards (TABs) gathered for a training and team-building activity, presented by the Resident Initiatives Department and Love in Action. The session emphasized understanding the function of the TAB, the importance of bylaws, and fostering collaborations with SLHA and property management. Training will continue throughout the summer.
