Take a behind-the-scenes look at our farm with this photo from our Roller Crimping Trial, part of our Integrated Weed Management program. This trial is crucial for understanding how different rolling techniques and cover crops influence weed suppression and the success of cash crops like sweet corn and hemp. Cover crops are planted to improve soil quality, protect against erosion, and prevent nutrient loss. They also help suppress weeds, control pests and diseases, improve water availability, and increase biodiversity on the farm. Check out the photos! 1️⃣ Research Technician Carolyn inspects a just-crimped plot of crimson clover, one of several crops the trial employs.
