Did you know that 47% of young adults with #autism have not worked since completing high school? This represents a missed opportunity for companies to tap into an incredibly talented and motivated workforce. As research shows that neurodivergent employees, including those on the autism spectrum, are 30% more productive than their neurotypical peers.

The latest CDC data shows #autism prevalence is reaching parity across racial and ethnic groups for the first time. However, new research exposes the social and systemic barriers that some families face as they navigate the complex world of autism diagnosis and access to services. Two separate studies of Black families with autism found cultural barriers, stigma, and a basic lack of understanding of autism often led to delays in seeking an initial diagnosis. And when families did try to get an evaluation or access services, many experienced cultural bias and racism. Autism manifests across all cultures, genders, races, and incomes.
