Incentive-matching toolbox that unlocks the full environmental and economic value of stormwater on private property

About us

Rainplan’s mission is to increase private property participation in regulated stormwater drainage and urban greening by connecting all market sides through a single platform. We have done this first by building a proprietary database of public and private incentives, rebates, and other programs that encourage more participation in regulated stormwater BMP installation. By building a first of its kind incentive platform, Rainplan is the de facto marketplace for managing both the discovery of incentives and managing the workflows associated with these projects. We operate nationally with a focus on the DC and California markets, using technology and over 50 years of combined experience to solve the toughest stormwater management challenges.

Environmental advocate working towards a resilient future | Associate Director, LA Waterkeeper

Artificial turf is bad for our communities and the environment. Not only does it not save as much water as promised, but it can reach 140 degrees on an 80 degree day and leaches harmful forever chemicals like PFAS and microplastics into our water supply. The city of LA is taking critical steps to evaluate policies and incentive programs that would phase out these harmful products. It’s a critical step in the right direction and hopefully will include further incentives for greening our communities with drought-friendly native plants that improve habitat and provide water quality and supply benefits. Check out my interview with Los Angeles Daily News about Los Angeles Waterkeeper support of recent efforts to phase out artificial turf. And what’s better, if you are a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customer there are incredible incentives right now to replace existing grass with drought tolerant native plants. https://lnkd.in/gHZHgYmg #drought #nativeplants #artificialturf #pfas #microplastics #waterquality

We are thrilled to show off this finished project in Northeast Washington, DC! The Aggregate Architecture #design team worked with us to apply for @doee-dc & @alliance-for-the-chesapeake-bay’s River Smart Rebate Program to install a new #greenroof complete with an array of #nativeplants. We’re so happy to take a part in such highly sustainable restoration project, which also included with permeable pavers and rain harvesting. We‘ll also shout out @connect_contracting for their amazing contracting work! Residential green roofs can offer homes energy cost savings of 15-25 percent during the summertime with #thermalresistance. They often last double the lifetime of conventional roofs with lower maintenance costs, according to @nationalasla. Tap the link in our bio! Find out what #stormwatermanagement programs are available for your property

Before everyone takes a summer break to celebrate July 4th, we want to celebrate Amy Burgart -Rainplan’s Product Designer. If you notice a change in the accessibility, ease, and fluidity of understanding, it's because of Amy and her expertise. Who better to describe her than the subject matter experts---her co-workers. 😛 Across all our social media today, we have words of praise about our genius (and often the most diplomatic player having to combine all stakeholder needs) product designer. "Amy's blend of creativity and UX skills set her apart in every project. What stands out most is her dedication to elevating user experiences and advocating for it. Amy doesn’t just make things look good; she ensures they work amazingly for everyone. Every day with her on the team is a chance to learn something new and watch some serious design magic happen." -Hairo, Rainplan Data Scientist. "Amy is a force with UX. There was a splash in time when everyone was doing UX boot camps, and that field was so saturated with people, and the differentiation in that entire world is vast. So, to find someone who is genuinely talented and generalized but also immensely dedicated to accessibility (and that often gets lost in the fog of war design) is a bit of a unicorn. Amy is that unicorn." -Kara, Rainplan Marketing Director. "Working with Amy is a privilege. Whether she's conducting user research, creating designs, overseeing other designers, reviewing dev implementations, or collaborating on the roadmap — her empathy and passion for our users, eye for detail, and skill at finding harmony among competing priorities are absolutely phenomenal." -Amanda, Rainplan Project Manager 📲 Other words that came up to describe her work: Mindful, enhanced, modern. 😀

🎉 GOOD NEWS ALERT🎉: Bipartisan water efficiency legislation announced today! Thank you, U.S. Representative Jared Huffman (D-CA-02), Ranking Member of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries, and Representative John Curtis (R-UT-03) for your work to re-introduce legislation to amend federal tax law for water conservation rebates. We're grateful for your leadership in addressing this critical issue. Our CEO, Ron Burke, was quoted in today's press release announcement, saying, "Water efficiency is becoming more important than ever with increasing drought, dwindling water supplies, and increasing costs. This bill will make investing in water efficiency easier because it eliminates an unnecessary tax on households that receive federal, state, and local incentives. The work of Rep. Huffman and the other co-sponsors is important to everyone who drinks and uses water". The bill is available here ⤵ https://lnkd.in/g_4EwzNb

The collaborative project aims to capture at least 1 million gallons of stormwater and includes a system of biofiltration basins, a constructed wetland, and native landscaping. “The benefit of this massive project is that it will be able to absorb rainwater during heavy rains, helping prevent flooding in the neighborhood and reducing the likelihood of stormwater overflowing into the storage district tunnels,” said Leinfelder Grove. https://lnkd.in/dFJfqxJH The Fresh Coast Protection Partnership, a community-based partnership between MMSD and CIS, celebrated the Wellpoint Care Network groundbreaking of one of the largest Green Stormwater Infrastructure projects in the city of Milwaukee!
