Artificial turf is bad for our communities and the environment. Not only does it not save as much water as promised, but it can reach 140 degrees on an 80 degree day and leaches harmful forever chemicals like PFAS and microplastics into our water supply. The city of LA is taking critical steps to evaluate policies and incentive programs that would phase out these harmful products. It’s a critical step in the right direction and hopefully will include further incentives for greening our communities with drought-friendly native plants that improve habitat and provide water quality and supply benefits. We’re so happy to take a part in such highly sustainable restoration project, which also included with permeable pavers and rain harvesting. Thank you, U.S. Representative Jared Huffman (D-CA-02), Ranking Member of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries, and Representative John Curtis (R-UT-03) for your work to re-introduce legislation to amend federal tax law for water conservation rebates. We're grateful for your leadership in addressing this critical issue.
