Queens of the Castro, Inc.

Queens of the Castro is a San Francisco, CA based 501(c)(3), founded in 2011, by three drag queens to raise awareness about the differences between gender and sexuality in high schools and universities. We raise scholarship funds for LGBTQ+ youth, age 16-25, who wish to pursue any post-secondary opportunity of their choice (college, vocational school, entrepreneurship). QOC has hosted numerous assemblies at San Francisco’s Mission High School, reaching 2,000+ students/faculty members, inspiring dozens of other schools to do the same. As of 2020, we have awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to students across California. With zero overhead costs in our fundraising and execution, we are giving away $56,000 in academic and performing arts scholarships in 2021.
