Axis creates pathways for students and families of color to access, navigate, and thrive in independent schools.
About us
Axis partners with Los Angeles area independent schools to create pathways for underrepresented students and families of color to access, navigate, and thrive in private education. We accomplish this by supporting families of color as they navigate the admissions process and the private school system; by placing educators of color in independent schools; and by providing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accountability (DEIA) consulting and accreditation for our Partner Schools.

What does the Axis DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accountability) Accreditation Program look like in action? Swipe through to see highlights from the Site Visiting Committee’s recent visit to The Waverly School, the first Axis Partner School to engage in the Axis DEIA Accreditation Program. Once a school has completed its Institutional Self-Evaluation—a self-assessment of its past, current, and future DEIA efforts—a Site Visiting Committee of educators, administrators, and DEIA practitioners visits the school. The Committee provides a 360-degree assessment of the self-evaluation findings, which is used to offer recommendations on how the school can improve accessibility and inclusivity. Curious to learn more? Read about this first-of-its-kind DEIA Accreditation here: privateschoolaxis.org/deia

There’s a lot of talk about DEI in education and business, and even more misconceptions about how diversity, equity, and inclusion practices are implemented. Axis has created a first-of-its-kind DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accountability) Accreditation Program for our Partner Schools. The accreditation is a peer-review, collaborative process that meets each of our Partner Schools where they are with regard to their DEI policies and practices. We are committed to supporting our Partner Schools through comprehensive accountability, and serving as thought partners to develop actionable plans. Swipe or click through to learn more about how our DEIA Accreditation Program works, and support our mission at https://lnkd.in/eG9kg5W7.
