Hi friends! I wanted to share that we have openings with our newest clinician, Emma Gulick (she/they), LMSW, at Prism Counseling and Support LLC. We work only with the LGBTQ+ community and their loved ones. In person in Killingworth or virtual. Husky insurance or private pay with sliding scale available. We are looking to start running gender affirming make-up, hair, nail, shaving, etc workshops at Prism Counseling and Support LLC. We are hoping to be able to make these workshops free, and to this end, I am wondering if anyone can recommend experienced make-up artists, hair stylists, etc who may be willing to donate their time to teach transgender individuals these skills. Please feel free to have people message us or email me at rebecca@prismcounselingct.com. MUST be VERY trans competent and affirming (obviously). Also, I am open to other suggestions for skills we can include in this workshop series! Thank you!

Join us on Tuesday, April 2 from 5pm to 7pm at our office in Killingworth for this community-building event. Register today at https://lnkd.in/gkgG2t82 International Transgender Day of Visibility is a special day to recognize and celebrate the transgender community and their contributions to society, and to raise awareness of the challenges and discrimination this community faces. It is celebrated on March 31 of each year. However, as that is Easter Sunday, we are celebrating at Prism on April 2. What to expect: Appetizers, cake and non-alcoholic drinks Board games and puzzles Crafts Optional icebreaker games Brief statements from members of the trans community and allies Lots of fun in a supportive and safe environment This event is for people of all ages. Members of the transgender community and their loved ones and allies are welcome. Come for the whole time or stay for a little while. RSVPs are appreciated but not required.
