We love working with customers like the County of Los Angeles who believe — like we do — in the transformative power of cleantech. Check out this video to learn about the EV charging project we installed at LA's Walt Disney Concert Hall and its impact.

"This Made-In-America success story is proving that fighting climate change by manufacturing clean energy can jumpstart an industrial renaissance the U.S. has been missing out on for decades." Thanks largely to the Inflation Reduction Act, clean energy jobs are booming in the U.S. — with an outsized impact on low-income and rural communities. The cost of installing a solar system is one of the top perceived barriers to adopting clean energy for organizations. We say "perceived" because the reality is quite different. Thanks to a variety of commercial solar financing options, it can be quite affordable to install a solar system on your property. In our new blog, we break down some familiar and not-so-familiar solar financing solutions — including traditional loans and leases and C-PACE and ESAs — and explain how we can help you navigate the solar financing landscape. https://bit.ly/4eLuFeU

"...This year [solar panels] will provide the world with about 6% of its electricity — which is almost three times as much electrical energy as America consumed back in 1954. Yet this historic growth is only the second-most-remarkable thing about the rise of solar power. The most remarkable is that it is nowhere near over." #MustRead article by The Economist on the exponential global growth of solar power: https://econ.st/3W2FsKr

“Of course, you're saving on your electricity bill because you're generating a lot of your own power, but you can get a faster payback if you're also being paid by the grid for excess power.” — PowerFlex's Head of Product Marketing Mary Cauwels on virtual power plants In case you missed it, check out our recent blog to learn how VPPs create value, how providers like us help with participation, and why it's never too late to get involved: https://bit.ly/497SM4q

Why invest in commercial solar panels? In our latest blog, we count the many benefits of going solar, including: 💲Economic: Significantly reduces energy costs by using “free” solar energy to fulfill a substantial portion of your annual electricity demand. 🏢 Operational: Generating your own energy on site reduces your reliance on utility lines that are prone to damage due to extreme weather events and aging infrastructure. 🌎 Sustainability: Reduces your carbon footprint, which is essential for businesses that are racing to meet sustainability goals at the behest of their investors, employees, and/or customers. Plus, we explain the three types of commercial solar systems, cost factors to consider (including tax credits and incentives!), and how PowerFlex can help you get started. https://bit.ly/4cICssq

"Millions of [EVs] could be thought of as a huge energy system that, for the first time, will be connected to another enormous energy system, the electrical grid." — Matthias Preindl, Columbia University New technology could turn electric-car batteries into an asset that assists the grid and gives owners benefits like "reduced utility bills, lower lease payments, or free parking." This is why we are so bullish about EV charging at PowerFlex: customers love EVs; car manufacturers like Ford Motor Company know it and won't put their foot off the... well, power. This whole personable piece by Jim Farley is great (e.g., on how regulations don't matter, on how the US must compete against China on EVs), but this is my favorite part: "Most compellingly, once people try an electric vehicle, they usually don’t want to go back. Nearly 70% of global electric vehicle owners say they’ll only buy electric vehicles in the future. If there is one thing I have learned in 40 years it’s this: you never want to be on the wrong side of customers and what matters in their lives."
As a lifelong car guy, I was surprised when I fell in love with electric vehicles. And it wasn't because of government policies or political beliefs. It's because I drive one. And as CEO of Ford Motor Company, I see how they can improve the lives of our customers. Electric vehicles remove daily hassles and remind us why we love to drive. In my 40 years developing vehicles, one thing I've learned is that you never want to be on the wrong side of customers and what matters in their lives.
Confessions from a lifelong Petrol Head. I love electric vehicles and it has nothing to do with politics.
