"I said, ‘I’ll build that bridge someday,’" Trumbull Project Manager Matthew Stahl recalls. And he did. The 4,545-ft-long, 15-span bridge, up to 180 ft above the Susquehanna River, is the crown jewel of Trumbull’s $156-million contract. The company is building the 3.5-mile northern section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) project that opened in 2022. Looking up through the future training tower at Harmony Fire District - Station 22. Metalfab installed the steel stair framing and landings, grating treads, and two line tube galvanized handrails. The Hawk Falls Bridge carrying Interstate 476 over Mud Run is starting to take shape. The open-spandrel deck arch bridge will replace the existing deck truss bridge on a new alignment to the east with an overall span length of 720 feet at a height of 200 feet above the valley. American Geotechnical & Environmental Services, Inc. provided geotechnical design as a subconsultant to Modjeski and Masters for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission on this project. The project also includes approximately one mile of roadway reconstruction and another bridge over State Route 534 (Hickory Run Road). This photo captures the bridge under construction from the Hawk Falls Trail within Hickory Run State Park, a scenic trail that enjoys views of rhododendrons and waterfalls.

PJ Dick recently wrapped up construction on Steel City Squash, a 22,000-sf education and fitness facility that houses Steel City Squash's headquarters as well as health and wellness amenities and eight squash courts. The Hawk Falls Bridge Replacement team is reaching milestones high above the Mud Run Valley! An ironworker connects a box girder to an arch rib line, furthering progress on the new bridge's aesthetic structure. To date, the falsework towers have been removed from under the three lines, which are functioning as arches.
