Advancing inclusive innovation, opportunity, and shared economic success for Georgians.
About us
The Partnership for Inclusive Innovation (Partnership) is a public-private partnership that launched in 2020 to lead coordinated, statewide efforts to position Georgia as the Technology Capital of the East Coast. Dedicated to advancing innovation, opportunity, and shared economic success across the state, the organization’s focus on community research, student engagement, and pilot programs is a powerful combination that establishes Georgia as a living lab for inclusive innovation. Under the guidance of board chair G.P. Bud Peterson and executive director Debra Lam, the Partnership seeks to help foster access, growth, entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the state.

COMMUNITY RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT: Assessing Atlanta’s Infrastructure for Equitable Access to Active Transportation and Multimodal Mobility Hello, community! Exciting developments are on the horizon for Atlanta's transportation network as it prepares for a significant transition toward smart, sustainable mobility and equitable access to active transportation. Under the leadership of Dr. Fei Li from Georgia State University's The Urban Studies Institute, AYSPS, Georgia State University, the project examines how infrastructure and the surrounding environment influence active transportation and multimodal mobility. The objective? Implementing intelligent policies for a safer, cleaner, and more connected Atlanta, equitable multimodal mobility through comprehensive data collection and community engagement. Updates: 1. Neighborhood mapping has been completed using LiDAR equipment mounted on cars. 2. A team of 25 students has engaged residents and conducted surveys across 24 blocks. 3. Devices including three Fitbits and two Airbeams are monitoring residents' physical activities and air pollution exposure. 4. Locations for micromobility device parking corrals have been scouted, thereby keeping parked devices off sidewalks and streets and enhancing pedestrian safety. Going forward, the team will continue to build community support for the project, seek additional funding, and implement the findings that will create safer neighborhoods for all. This project is in partnership with MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority), University of Massachusetts Amherst, Propel ATL, and City of Atlanta.
