6 million menstrual cycles served! We are incredibly proud of this milestone. PERIOD. has been distributing reusable and disposable period products to menstruators in need across the country (and world) for the last 10 years. Thank you to our generous partners and donors for helping make this possible. (One menstrual cycle is equivalent to 15 disposable period products.) Together, we are fighting for a world where period products are affordable and accessible for all people who menstruate. Ending period poverty in our lifetime means we're working to address the immediate need of period poverty through product distribution while advocating for systemic policy and cultural change through advocacy and education. Join us in ending period poverty and stigma and donate period products at period.org/donate.

Our New York Period Community Organizer, Alisa Nudar, is leading the charge in New York City to ensure students have access to period products and comprehensive education at school. New York has mandated period products in public schools since 2018 with a expansion to include private schools in late 2023. Alisa's research aims to identify NYC school teachers' and administrators' knowledge of existing period policies and further explore NYC students' experiences with menstruation and menstrual health at school. Thank you to Marni Sommer and the Gender, Adolescent Transitions & Environment (GATE) Program at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
Calling all NYC Department of Education administrators & students! A Queens high school student Alisa Nudar is conducting a research study and wants to learn what you know about your school's period policies and hear about your in-school menstruation experiences! This research consists of two Google Forms: The first is targeted to administrators to test their knowledge about school period policies and the way these policies affect their school. The other is for students to test your experiences with menstruation and menstrual health while at school For teachers and administrators: https://bit.ly/3XwUMAd For students: https://bit.ly/3VOkjDO

Thank you to The 19th and Nadra Kareem Nittle for highlighting the importance of comprehensive menstrual health education in the classroom and referencing the PERIOD. and Thinx Inc. 2023 State of the Period Study! Our study found that a majority (78%) of teens agree education around menstrual health should be part of the core curriculum, just like math. AB 2229 in California (sponsored by Assemblymember Lori D Wilson) is an important and obvious step forward in ending the stigma surrounding menstruation. 🩸 Read the full story at: https://lnkd.in/gSRwvrVS and take action for California AB 2229 at https://lnkd.in/gmaddTbX 📣 Advocates for Youth

PERIOD. @ Abington Heights High School were invited to meet with Pennsylvania’s First Lady, Lori Shapiro to discuss period poverty and ways to further period product access in high schools across the state because of their experience providing period products for fellow students since 2018! Co-president Emma Newman, Vice President Siya Patel, and Chapter Founder Isabel Lam were invited to represent their chapter. We are so proud of their continued hard work and advocacy in the menstrual equity space in PA. We also want to thank Governor Josh Shapiro and First Lady, Lori Shapiro for recognizing Menstrual Health Awareness Month and allocating $3 million in this year’s budget to provide menstrual products in schools at no cost to students!
