"What's the next million-dollar idea?" As leaders in peer-to-peer fundraising, this question is a familiar refrain. Is it pickleball, livestreaming, ambassador fundraising, plane pulls or marathon hikes? While organizations are finding success with these events, the pivotal question isn't just about the activity itself—it's about the audience you want to engage. Before chasing the next big idea, it's crucial to know who your current portfolio attracts. Do your existing P2P programs primarily appeal to specific age groups, genders or socioeconomic backgrounds? Are they tailored for mass appeal or niche communities? Do they aim to garner high-volume support or attract high-wealth donors? Understanding your current audience lays the groundwork for identifying gaps and pinpointing the activities that will resonate most with them, driving engagement and advancing your mission.
