We’re excited to share memories from the Pattern Energy team as we look back at our last 15 years. Stay tuned as we share more stories from the team throughout the coming weeks! – From Alex J. Hoffer, Assistant Vice President of Business Development: “I was 22 years old when I started at Pattern in January 2010, fresh out of undergrad - and within a few months, I was pretty sure I knew most of what there was to know about this business. But that could hardly have been further from the truth - and there was so much we all had to figure out together along the way - as we succeeded in ever-bolder initiatives and pushed the industry forward. Looking back on the last 14 1/2 years, I just feel so grateful for the many Pattern friends and mentors I've had along the way - for their patience with me and for the opportunities I was afforded, and for all we've been able to achieve together. It didn't take long to realize that the work we were doing was special - in the sense that it felt aligned, and like more than just a job. We really believe in what we're doing, and it's in our DNA to do it the right way - which is invariably the right thing for business too, in the long run. How rare it is to get to do something that feels like our life's work - and never like toil. It's been a privilege to get to grow up alongside Pattern and with a group of colleagues that care so much about each other. I like to think that Pattern and I are both grown up now... but if I've learned anything, it's to just keep learning - and that the best is yet to come, for all of us.” #PatternEnergy #PatternPeople #PatternAnniversary

Public Engagement Manager Sarah McCall has hit the ground running in her two years at Pattern Energy, contributing to our team’s ongoing commitment to local communities. — “I joined Pattern's External Affairs team just over two years ago and a main focus of my work is to provide community engagement support to our site teams at our operating facilities. In my first two years at Pattern, I have had the opportunity to visit with our site teams and meet so many of our landowners, stakeholders and community partners at 12 of our operating wind facilities including Santa Isabel, Broadview & Grady, Ocotillo, Amazon Fowler Ridge, Spring Valley, Hatchet Ridge, Stillwater, Henvey Inlet, Western Spirit, Post Rock and Panhandle. And what an incredible journey it has been! While every community and landscape is vastly different, there is one thing that is always the same in each place I’ve visited: Pattern is living its values of developing lasting partnerships with the local communities where we have a presence. Pattern is a good neighbor, and we listen to and engage with our landowners and stakeholders. Our involvement in engagement and giving activities for the long term has positively impacted communities and lives, and it has been inspiring to see this on my travels and hear it firsthand from our stakeholders. It is very rewarding to work with our site teams who lead our incredible community engagement efforts and work every day to ensure Pattern is a good neighbor and community partner. Cheers to 15 more years of living our values at Pattern Energy!”

A recent Berkeley Lab study of more than 100 million US workers across 23 states found that the benefits of large-scale wind projects on local employment are much higher and longer lasting than previously thought! The study found clear evidence of increases in employment and earnings within 20 miles of existing wind projects, beginning during construction and continuing for several years after. Black workers and those without a high school diploma saw outsized gains in income and employment over other workers near wind projects. Wind works for American workers. SunZia is a success story. Despite facing decades of hurdles, the largest clean energy project in U.S. history is becoming a reality and will soon deliver clean power to millions of Americans. The project’s history is emblematic of the issues slowing the development of key infrastructure in the United States, but the long, strange story of SunZia offers guidance and hope for building a clean energy future. #PatternEnergy #SunZia #Sustainability #WindEnergy #WindPower #CleanEnergy #CleanPower #RenewableEnergy #RenewablePower

For the first time, the Inflation Reduction Act allows clean energy companies to buy and sell tax credits with each other. Companies rarely need to use all the tax credits that they generate from their projects, but this new market directs funding to where it’s most needed and encourages the development of more ambitious projects. Crux is facilitating the trade of these transferable tax credits. We are proud to invest in Crux’s work in establishing this burgeoning market and speeding up the energy transition. #PatternEnergy #CruxClimate #Crux #Sustainability
