We’re thrilled to see Paravision featured in the San Francisco Business Times article on the rising threat of deepfakes in the cybersecurity landscape 🚀 “Anywhere where there are assets to be had that sit behind a set of authentication gates, you’re going to see these types of attacks in the same way that you would see hackers go after two-factor or password-based authentication.” - Doug Aley, CEO of Paravision A big thank you to William Hicks for shedding light on this critical issue and for including us alongside esteemed companies like LastPass and Ripple, Deep Media AI, and industry leaders like Hany Farid. New demographic insights from NIST FRTE 1:1 👇 We recently highlighted the importance of inclusion in face recognition technology, focusing on the critical metric of FMR Max. We're excited to share new insights and a more comprehensive white paper that delves deeper into this topic. The graph below shows leading vendors’ error rates for each reported area of origin, pulled from their individual National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) FRTE 1:1 Report Cards. While most vendors struggle with all origins but Eastern Europe, Paravision singularly shows exceptional accuracy across all groups. Here are some additional highlights: 🥇 Best Performance Across Groups: Paravision performs better than every other vendor for people of Central American, Western African, Caribbean, Eastern African, South Asian, and East Asian origin, and on par with leading vendors for people of Eastern European origin. 📊 Consistency of Accuracy: The heat map in the comments shows the geographic-specific error rates of each leading vendor in NIST FRTE 1:1. Blue color means better, showing Paravision’s consistency across all groups. Financial institutions, government services, and other sensitive sectors face significant risks if they fail to address poor demographic performance. Our updated white paper not only analyzes the NIST FRTE 1:1 results but also provides a full guide on how to achieve true inclusion in face recognition technology. Let’s talk about inclusion in Face Recognition systems👇 Ensuring inclusive systems is crucial for any company in biometrics, and sensitive sectors face significant legal, financial, and reputational risks if they fail to address poor demographic performance in their systems. In our new blog post, we discuss how companies can advocate for inclusion in biometric systems, and explore an important but overlooked metric from the NIST FRTE 1:1 – FMR Max, which is a crucial indicator of a system's worst-case performance regarding demographic performance. We take an in-depth look at the FMR Max performance of leading vendors, discuss why the differences are important, and list questions all buyers should ask their vendors to assess the risk of demographic shortcomings.   Key highlights: 🥇 With an FMR Max of just 0.00086, Paravision leads the way in minimizing false matches and ensuring accurate identification for all demographic groups. 📈 Paravision’s FMR Max is more than 5 times lower compared to the next best vendor within the top-25. 🌍 Paravision's FMR Max is found in Eastern European males aged 12-20. In contrast, the worst-case demographic group for all other vendors in the top 25 is Western African females aged 65-99. Read more below about how Paravision is setting the standard for inclusion in face recognition technology and why this matters for high-stakes applications like financial services, border security, identity programs, and government services:
