This was such an amazing group of talented future hospitality leaders. Palms leaders worked side by side with students from Institut Lyfe (Ex-Institut Paul Bocuse) to tackle real-world scenarios facing our industry today. At the end of the program, students presented their projects to Palms leaders. Their projects were well thought out and provided meaningful insight that we plan to use in our operation soon. We look forward to next summer’s program! #PalmsCasino #PalmsLeaders #PalmsCares

We’re sad to bid adieu to our most recent cohort from Institut Lyfe, who returned to France after an intensive 6-week learning program at Hospitality Hall. The college’s Sands Center for Professional Development designed the program, providing customized management training and special behind-the-scenes tours for participants. Whether you work in higher ed or in industry, our Sands Center may have the right training solution for your organization. Check us out at: https://lnkd.in/gCTwJKvd

In honor of 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, we caught up with our VP of Event Sales & Catering, Raul Daniels and discussed how he got into the industry and what leadership means to him. 𝐐 - 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲? A - My journey into the Hospitality Industry began almost 30 years ago when I started working at Spago, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, back in high school. Spago at that time was one of the only fine dining restaurants and everyone who worked there had a strong passion for culinary arts and customer service. At Spago, I fell in love with the idea that hospitality is not just caring for our guests, but about creating memories that last a lifetime. 𝐐 - 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐬? A - I love the rich history of the Palms and the passion that our Team Members have for the property. I love working at a property where what we do matters, and every single Team Member can have a direct impact on the success of the Palms. I am even more excited about the future under the leadership of San Manuel, and I know there is a lot of opportunities for growth for this iconic resort. 𝐐 - 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝? A - The best career advice I received was around the importance of building strong relationships and networks, staying adaptable and open to change, and always striving for excellence. Also, nothing is ever given to you, you have to earn it! 𝐐 - 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? A - To me, leadership means inspiring and motivating my team to achieve their best while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. It involves leading by example, being approachable and supportive, and ensuring everyone feels valued and heard. Leadership is also about making strategic decisions that align with the overall goals of the organization, driving growth, and continuously improving both personally and professionally. #palmscasino #palmscares #PrideMonth #PRIDE

In honor of 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, we caught up with our Director of Human Resources, Michael Wasinger, MBA, SPHR and discussed how he got into the industry and what leadership means to him. 𝐐 – 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲? A – My first hospitality job was in high school at a 1950’s style soda fountain shop in my hometown of Hays, KS. I waited tables and bartended through college then landed a server job at a new casino restaurant in Kansas City. That was the job that kick started my formal career in hospitality and led me to Las Vegas. 𝐐 – 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐬?  A – Palms is iconic, and I have many fond memories of being here as a guest throughout its history, which makes it special for me to be on the other side. There’s a certain magic about this property and the Team Members here are the best in the business. As a small property, it’s easier to get to know people and build great relationships, which is what I really love about working here. 𝐐 – 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝? A – Be confident enough to ask for help when you need it. 𝐐 – 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? A – To me leadership is a dynamic concept but is really rooted in serving others, lifting up those around you, and inspiring those who choose to follow you. #palmscasino #palmscares #PrideMonth #PRIDE

Happy Father’s Day to all our fathers, grandfathers and ancestors for safeguarding and nurturing our Tribal family. We appreciate and honor you always.   The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is here today because of men like Santos Manuel. We thank him and later his son, Tom Manuel, who helped establish our fledgling community here on the San Manuel Reservation in the 1800s.   Thank you to the first fathers of the Reservation for setting a vision to see our people flourish seven generations ahead.   – San Manuel Tribal Council   #FathersDay #HappyFathersDay #SMBMI #SantosManuel #NativePride #PalmsCasino #PalmsCares

#WorldBloodDonorDay is a wonderful day to thank those who give blood so others can live. And if you can give blood but have not, it is a wonderful day to start.   Did you know: - Every 2 seconds someone needs blood - A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood - Approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S.   The Tribe has held numerous blood drives to ensure that life giving blood will be there for those who need it. We encourage you to consider giving blood today.   Source: RedCrossBlood.org   – San Manuel Tribal Council   #BloodDonation #Donate #PalmsCasino #PalmsCares
