Our Kids. Our Communities. Our Future.
About us
Public education is the cornerstone of our communities! Education provides a huge array of opportunities for students to be able to connect, grow and thrive through the support of incredible teachers. Our schools are the setting to so many amazing stories in the Kansas City region, and we are providing a place for them to be told. Our Kids. Our Communities. Our Future. is an initiative of The Cooperating School Districts of Greater Kansas City (CSDGKC) - a co-op of 34 school districts working together to create local results through regional cooperation. Our member districts serve different populations in our area, but are all united under common goals of providing every student with the type of education that supports them, motivates them and allows them to pursue and achieve their dreams.

We love seeing the skill development opportunities that public schools provide for our kids! These high school finance class students paired up with sixth graders to set up a “store” to practice budgeting, purchasing, and the business aspect of running a store. Thanks for sharing, Knob Noster Public Schools!

Public schools foster community not just in a school district, but around the world. Liberty Public Schools shared about their elementary students’ Shop for a Cause pop-up shop, with proceeds benefiting a school in Zambia! They also collected school supplies and books for the school’s classroom in Zambia.

Our schools prepare students for their futures. At Missouri high schools participating in the A+ program, like Oak Grove High School in the Oak Grove R-VI School District, students who meet certain criteria can receive up to two years paid tuition at participating two-year schools and technical schools in Missouri. For students at Oak Grove, they meet their requirement of at least 50 hours of tutoring or mentoring as part of the criteria by volunteering at the elementary schools in the district! What an awesome way to give back, spend time inspiring young students, and fulfill the requirements to obtain life-changing scholarships!

We love this! Harrisonville Schools shared that second graders hosted a Liberty Kids Store at Harrisonville Elementary School. Students had the opportunity to shop various items at the “pop-up store” in their teacher’s classroom, and they raised $1,750, which they donated to Harrisonville Animal Shelter! Our schools are full of stories like these every day that we don’t hear about. Have a story like this in your district you’d like the public to know about? Share with us: https://ow.ly/mORC50SfGgS

Public schools provide hands-on, real world opportunities for our kids. During the construction of Excelsior Springs School District’s new elementary school, students from the HVAC and Carpentry & Construction classes got to visit the site to see the work in action. They were able to ask contractors from various fields all about the work, and they left with a better understanding of everything they learned in class!
