Yesterday morning, I joined Bronx faith leaders to discuss their work to address housing affordability, asylum seekers, and making this city more livable for all of us.    Working together gives us the power to cultivate innovative solutions that benefit all New Yorkers.

This week, a lawsuit challenging fossil fuel divestment by NYC pension funds was tossed out due to lack of standing -- a big win for common-sense responsible investing, for New York City’s municipal workers and retirees, and for the future of our City and our planet.

July is Disability Pride Month, marking the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. For our July Spotlight, we examine how New Yorkers with disabilities are faring in the workplace and how that was impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since its founding in 2022, AAPI-LEAD has guided youth from across the New York Metro area through four days of workshops and trainings on the major issues impacting young AAPI New Yorkers today. We’re especially grateful to longtime friends of CACF’s Asian American Student Advocacy Project, Senator John Liu and NYC Comptroller Brad Lander for participating in a panel discussion and Q and A with our attendees about government service and the importance of building relationships with the communities they represent in office. 👋 Stay tuned for news about AAPI-LEAD’s second cohort of the summer when the conference returns this August!
