It’s National Zookeeper’s Week, and we’re celebrating the dedicated staff of the Trailside Museums and Zoo at Bear Mountain, our system's only zoo. This unique zoo is home to permanently injured native wildlife. Thanks to the staff’s expert care, the animals thrive as ambassadors for their species!

Camp Junior is in full swing at Harriman State Park! Commissioner Pro Tem Randy Simons, Chief Diversity Officer Yolanda Bostic Williams, Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblymember Yudelka Tapia celebrated getting outdoors with the campers this week. The camp was established in memory of gang violence victim Lesandro Guzman-Feliz to serve children from his Bronx neighborhood.

In residency at John Brown Farm State Historic Site now through Sept. 30, “Harriet Tubman – A Beacon of Hope.” This 13-foot-tall statue pictures famed abolitionist Harriet Tubman as a rising symbol of freedom and kick-starts a summer full of events detailing Tubman's life at the site.
