NuSources commemorates the Donor Heroes who have given the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation, and we applaud the generosity and courage of these individuals and their families. Our Founder and CEO, Drew Murray, lost his sister to a rare brain disease in December 2022. In her passing, Danielle Murray saved the lives of six individuals, restored sight to 2 others, and helped countless others regain mobility through the gift of bone/tissue donation. Wishing everyone a happy and safe Presidents Day from NuSources! Presidents Day honors the service of all Presidents throughout our nation’s history, but more specifically, celebrates the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. In 1885, Congress designated February 22nd, George Washington’s actual birthday, as a holiday for all federal workers, making it the first federal holiday to honor an individual’s birth date. In 1971, however, the Uniform Monday Holiday Law changed the date to the third Monday in February. The proximity of the holiday between the birthdays of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, born on February 12th, gave way to the name we recognize today, Presidents Day! #presidentsday
