We would like to send a heart felt thank you to the Maine Cancer Foundation . MCF helps so many organizations in our state support patients and fight cancer. We just heard word that the Snell Foundation, which provides support for patients fighting cancer, just had their grant proposal for lung cancer screenings approved. This is fantastic news for Maine! Thank you MCF for all that you are doing to stem the tide of cancer.

If you've seen the snow leopard scene in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, you know how hard it was to get a photo of these three, but it was worth it. Our nurses deserve a lot of recognition and this week, at NECS, we are celebrating their dedication. If you're a nurse, thank you for your steadfast care. If you know a nurse, let them know they are appreciated.

Thank you to the Portland Sea Dogs for treating our VIP guest so well during yesterday's game. Stacey King, her family, and Dr. Devon Evans were able to take the field for her ceremonial first pitch for the game against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats . Stacey and Dr. Evans are fighting breast cancer together at our Portsmouth practice.

As part of the Lewiston / Auburn community, we know how significant the loss of St. Mary's oncology practice will be for both patients and cancer care professionals. We know transition plans there are still in development however, if you know of anyone experiencing a crisis of care or employment, there are resources available close by. Please let patients know they can reach out to the Cancer Care Center at CMMC at (207) 795-2935. Any affected oncology professionals should know that we have opportunities in Lewiston that will allow them to continue to care with passion in the community they love: https://loom.ly/tnA4e_8
