Neurologist Nicole Absar, MD is touring the community to spotlight neurocognitive and Alzheimer’s disease services being offered at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Her first stop was the Martha’s Vineyard Rotary Club. “Dr. Absar did a great job of covering a complex subject in a limited time period and graciously handled an active Q&A session,” says Tom Rosenthal, VP of the Rotary Club. “Her breakdown of the many ways that people can be affected by neurocognitive disorders beyond memory loss, such as processing vision and spatial orientation, gave me a better understanding of the complexities involved.”

In partnership with Boston MedFlight, U.S. Coast Guard and Nantucket Cottage Hospital, our Emergency Department staff completed a comprehensive training program designed to enhance the safety and efficiency when transporting patients by air. For those looking to be an observer and shadow a department, service or individual for up to two weeks, opportunities are available hospital-wide based on availability. After more than 50 years of service at Martha's Vineyard Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital , Timothy Guiney, MD, cardiologist, is retiring this July. Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Guiney shares, "What began as a 'one-man show' has expanded the horizons of cardiac care on the island, fostering a profound partnership between Martha's Vineyard Hospital and Mass General."
