On this 4th of July, let us celebrate the resilience, strength, and contributions of people of color throughout American history. As we commemorate this day, let us also reflect on the ongoing fight for justice, equality, and true independence for all in our diverse nation. Happy 4th of July to all, as we continue to strive for a more inclusive and equitable society for future generations. #MoreIn2024!
More in Common Alliance
Hospitals and Health Care
The More in Common Alliance is diversifying the healthcare workforce, so it better reflects the communities they serve.
About us
The More in Common Alliance is a partnership between the Morehouse School of Medicine and CommonSpirit Health. Morehouse School of Medicine is a historically Black medical school and one of America's leading educators of primary care physicians, and CommonSpirit Health is one of America's largest health systems with locations in 21 states from coast to coast. Knowing patients consistently fare better when treated by clinicians of similar backgrounds who share lived experiences, the More in Common Alliance seeks to address critical gaps in care by increasing cultural competency and expanding representation. Together, we are leading a 10-year, $100-million initiative to expand undergraduate and graduate medical education to build a more diverse and dynamic workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

Hospital Senior Leader | Becker’s Hospital Review: Leaders to Know Under 40 | Culture, Experience, and Engagement Influencer
Yesterday was a special moment of #celebration! From starting at Dignity Health California almost 4 years ago, I've had the privilege of seeing this cohort of family medicine residents grow from their first day of internship to now being board-certified physicians. This day also marks other significant milestones: the 40th anniversary of our hospital's family medicine residency and the first graduating class under our academic partnership with the Morehouse School of Medicine under the More in Common Alliance. I'm extremely proud of this cohort and grateful for the time spent providing education and mentorship along the way. Posting their photos and names below because they are definitely ones to watch and follow along in their journey.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, celebrating freedom, resilience, and the rich cultural heritage of the African American community. It's a time to reflect on the progress made and acknowledge the ongoing fight for equality and justice. Together, we honor this day by recognizing the strength and contributions of those who came before us and by committing to a future of true freedom and unity.
