From meeting the BDF community to seeing some incredibly inspiring talks, we could not have had a better time at Birmingham Design Festival 🤩 Marie Boulanger took the stage for her talk "Kerning, spacing, leading the way," validating all the proud (but still very creative) rule-followers. She shared how the rigid, unforgiving and demanding rules of type design have provided her with the most beautiful framework she could dream of, not just to draw letters but to carve out a career and life she loves. Thank you for having us, Birmingham Design Festival!

Highlights from Art Directors Club (ADC) Germany ✨ Type in branding is powerful. In fact, typography is probably the most powerful design asset in creative branding. In times when AI is increasingly involved in brand development, it is becoming more and more important. It creates recognition. And above all - it conveys emotions. Friedrich, Senior Type Designer at Monotype, and Eva, Senior Creative at Interbrand, presented a rebrand case study for Boehringer Ingelheim. Together, Monotype and Interbrand created a custom brand typeface, reflecting a positive view of the future and the conviction that we can shape and influence it for the better.
