The FDA recently published an update to the Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM) Chapter 5 for 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢. The update added a 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 screening section (Section D) to include generic LAMP and qPCR protocols, which references Microbiologics UV-BioTAG™ control strains as Suggested Quality Control Cultures. UV-BioTAG is our line of Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) marked microbial control strains which visibly fluoresce under ultraviolet (UV) light, making them easily distinguishable from naturally occurring microflora. Compatible with traditional and rapid detection methods, our UV-BioTAG controls provide a quick, easy and reliable solution for routine QC testing. In addition to the BAM suggested 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 QC strains, we offer UV-BioTAG for QC testing of Shiga Toxin-Producing 𝘌𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘪 (STEC), 𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 and more. Heading to the International Association for Food Protection Annual Meeting in Long Beach next week? Stop by booth #524 to learn more about UV-BioTAG or visit our website: https://bit.ly/3zxNlMI
