I'm wrapping up my last day at ISTELive 24 🎇 Here are some of the highlights and takeaways from all of the sessions I saw, meetings I had, and connections I made! 💡 "We can't prepare our students for everything, so we have to prepare them for anything." Sinead Bovell, who also made the case that the most important human skill going forward will be that of exercising judgment. 💡 Amazing work being led by Jeff McCoy at Greenville County Schools to best prepare his staff and students for the changes being brought about by AI. 💡 Some fascinating research being done by Jullia Lim at Columbia University on learner interactions with AI-generated instructional avatars. 💡 A great data collection effort by the EdTech Team at Torrance Unified School District to understand how their students and staff are using AI. 💡 Catching up with Ira Gluck to hear about the new features being added and the pilots being launched with Primer. 💡 Leveling up our use of LLMs in education is crucial to be AI and media literate; a phenomenal workshop led by Ken Shelton helped to demonstrate this. 💡 "When people say 'I promise I wrote this without the assistance of ChatGPT'... that isn't the flex you think it is." - Holly Clark Also proud to share the work of the Michigan Virtual AI Lab - thanks to everyone who came to learn about our work!
