A heartfelt thank-you to LAHC LEADERS ADVANCING AND HELPING COMMUNITIES for their continued partnership with several programs in our Family of Services. This summer, LAHC is mentoring the boys in our Residential Treatment program on important topics like healthy living, behavioral health, and substance use disorder. They even hosted a fun kung fu session a few weeks ago! The boys are learning so much and having a blast while doing it. Thank you LAHC! If you are passionate about helping others learn, grow, and develop new skills, we’d love to connect you with one of our programs! Reach out to Eriann Scharer at escharer@mchsmi.org to explore the possibilities. #communitiypartners #thepowerofcommunity

Well, would you look at that! Our community just got a whole lot cleaner, and it’s all thanks to our dedicated volunteers. Many thanks to Rocket Mortgage, Comerica Bank, Ford Motor Company, and the Detroit Pistons for joining us at our Pembroke campus in Detroit on Friday for a day full of cleaning, organizing, and landscaping. Our Pembroke campus is home to the following programs: Independent Living Plus, serving youth aging out of foster care. My Friend's Place, serving homeless young adults aged 18-24. My Safe Space, serving young adults aged 18-24 experiencing a mental health crisis. Thank you for turning hard work into a blast and for making a real difference. Your energy and dedication are contagious! If you'd like to be involved in future volunteer events or if you'd like to host a service project at one of our campuses, please reach out to Development Coordinator, Eriann Scharer at, escharer@mchsmi.org

Throughout May, we held our spring fundraising campaign to benefit our Independent Living Plus (ILP) program, which directly supports youth aging out of foster care in Michigan. Today, we're excited to share the results of that campaign. Drumroll, please… Our amazing community of partners gave $46,659.61 - we are grateful for your generosity! If you were able to give during this year’s campaign – THANK YOU! Your giving will truly save and transform lives. #communitypartners #thepowerofcommunity #thisisfamily

At MCHS Family of Services, it is our goal to treat, heal and prepare youth for the futures they deserve. This involves creating a sense of normalcy by partnering with local organizations and donors to provide memorable experiences for our youth. We'd like to acknowledge three organizations that recently hosted special events for our Residential Treatment program at our Redford campus: The Sunny at the University of Michigan Student Group - The boys had a BLAST at field day! Who knew playing games with a parachute could be so much fun?! Little Caesars Pizza Love Kitchen - Thank you for the love AND the pizza. It's always a treat when you stop by! The Abhi Shah Foundation - Thank you for the time spent with our boys engaging both their minds and their appetites (that KFC was delicious!) We are grateful for our amazing community of partners! If you're interested in hosting an event for any of our programs, please contact our Development Coordinator, Eriann Scharer, at escharer@mchsmi.org.
