Congrats to 2019 B.S. alum Heather Lukas!
I was honored to receive the 2024 Caltech Demetriades - Tsafka - Kokkalis Prize in entrepreneurship for my work in translating my group's research in medical engineering and my continued involvement with MedTech Innovator. For the prize, I submitted a comprehensive business plan for a femtech startup leveraging innovative sweat hormone sensing technology from the Wei Gao Research Group. Thank you to all those that have supported me to this point in medtech and entrepreneurship! I'd also like to extend the congratulations to my long-time collaborator Anand Muthusamy for winning the prize in biotechnology for his thesis work on protein-engineered biosensors for neuroscience applications. Congrats Anand! https://lnkd.in/gDaf7nEx

Nice to celebrate Lorie Walker's (pictured, center) years of service yesterday in Weill Hall. Lorie has been assistant to Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University director Marjolein C H van der Meulen since 2016 and we wish her much happiness transitioning this summer to a new role and pasture (in Delaware)!

Congrats!
Last week was amazing! I successfully defended my PhD thesis on Monday and celebrated the hooding ceremony and BME department commencement on the weekend. I am grateful for the support from my family, friends, colleagues, collaborators, my PI and everyone who has contributed to my journey. I am especially proud to have celebrated part of it with my mother. It still feels like it's a dream 🎓
