The City of Mt. Holly is embarking on a journey to honor the legacy of Ransom Hunter, a remarkable figure who transformed the Glendale Property from a humble homestead into a beacon of community and resilience. Born into slavery, Mr. Hunter's journey to freedom led him to establish a thriving homestead and support his community as a carpenter and blacksmith. His legacy of generosity extended to providing land for churches, schools, and homes for formerly enslaved families, embodying the spirit of an advocate for belonging by fostering an inclusive and supportive community. We are proud to be a part of the team helping in the allocation of funds for research, archeological studies, and the design of a new City park on the historic Glendale Property. This park will not only celebrate Mr. Hunter's contributions but also serve as a testament to the enduring spirit of community and history. This past week was bittersweet as we celebrated two major milestones in Texas. Alongside the Lewisville Chamber, our DFW team officially "cut the ribbon" during the grand opening of our Lewisville office, and R. I am very excited that, in the face of crazy construction bids as a result of runaway inflation in a COVID era that offered no assurances, the City of Albemarle held firm and found the means to make their alley conversion happen. Now completed, a shining central space, Courthouse Alley, is ready to serve the community as a place for hosting events, gatherings, and for residents and visitors to find a spot to stop and enjoy their time in Downtown Albemarle. I am excited for the City and grateful to have contributed design for this fantastic found space.

High Point's City Lake Park has undergone a stunning $20 million renovation, reviving its iconic pool and surrounding amenities. From upgraded water slides to a new lazy river, this transformation has made the park an even more inviting space for the community.
