    The Rise of Sodium-Ion Batteries in China's Energy Landscape - Martian Post📬001 ✨ Sodium-Ion Batteries in China ✨ In China's energy storage industry, 2023 marked the "inaugural year of mass production" for sodium-ion batteries. Since then, Chinese enterprises have introduced self-developed sodium battery vehicles and sodium-ion battery cells into the market. Moreover, the country's first large-scale sodium-ion battery energy storage project commenced operations in Nanning, Guangxi in May 2024, initially providing a storage capacity of 10 MWh. Once fully developed, the project is expected to reach a total capacity of 100 MWh. According to EVTank, a Chinese research center, sodium-ion battery shipments are anticipated to reach 347 GWh by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 58.1% from 2024 to 2030. 🎭 Pros and Cons 🎭 Compared to lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries excel in cost efficiency and safety but have lower energy density. They are anticipated to be 20% to 30% cheaper than lithium-ion batteries and boast a wider operational temperature range, functioning from -40 to 80 ℃.
